The Oaklawn Farm Zoo
This week we had a class trip to the zoo! Here is a recap of what we did!
We got on the bus at 9 am and made our way to the zoo, we were met there by the zoo's staff and were escorted into a petting corral where they showed us some animals.
They started with some of the new animals that had just been born. We got to pet a baby goat, pig, bunny, and the most exciting the new baby lion!
Then they brought in some reptiles for us to see! We could pet an iguana, turtle, or a snake! Ms. Hickey was not keen on petting the snake, neither were some of the other students.
After getting to see some of the animals up close it was time to tour the zoo! We had a tour by the zookeeper and saw all of the animals, we even got to feed the goats some corn. At the end the zookeeper brought us to the bear enclosure and we got to give him a peppermint, he took in in his lips and he was very gentle!
At the end of the day, we got ice-cream and then loaded back onto the bus to head back to school!
Everyone behaved so well and we are so thankful for all of our parent volunteers for coming along to chaperone. We cannot wait for our next class trip!
Check out some of the pictures Ms. Hickey took while we were there!
